Introduction of Research

Localization is to determine the precise position(under meter level) of an autonomous vehicle on a map, which means that autonomous vehicle can be aware of its position by matching sensor data with the map.

Like the localization technologies that Google and Tesla are aiming for, AVElab has been researching localization technologies based on HD-map with cm level accuracy, not on SLAM, which is widely used in the robot field.
